Human Rights in Supply Chains - Practical Workshop

StockSnap_1JOAXP119F (kopio).jpg

The workshop on Responsible Supply Chain Management (RSCM) enables you to align your supply chain management system with the requirements from the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) / OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The workshop points to the differences from former RSCM approaches (established before 2011) and to the opportunities that the global agreement on a minimum standard for responsible business conduct offers.

Companies that have not addressed responsibility in their upstream value chain, but wish to do so, will be directed in the direction expected by the standard. Companies that already spend resources on RSCM will be offered a way to align with the standard, while saving costs and reducing frustrations during the interaction with suppliers.

Facilitator

Sune Skadegaard Thorsen, CEO in GLOBAL CSR, became professional advisor on business and human rights, when he founded GLOBAL CSR in 1998. With abackground as Attorney, specialising in international corporate and commercial law, Mr. Thorsen dedicated his carrier to enabling best practises and an international framework for business and human rights. As expert advisor to the Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR), to the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights (GBI) and a range of leading companies, Mr. Thorsen contributed to the development of the UNGPs. Mr. Thorsen appreciates the UNGPs for their pragmatic, yet principles based, approach to corporate responsibility.
